Once enrolled, you will receive 180 days of free access to the Sage platform, giving you the flexibility to study at a time and pace that suits you. SAGE Computerised Accounting
At Level 1 Computerised Accounting, learners are introduced to the essential foundations of accounting systems and how financial transactions are recorded accurately within a business environment using Sage software. This beginner-friendly level requires no prior experience and focuses on building a clear understanding of how computerised accounting systems operate, including key terminology, chart of accounts, and the basic functions of either Sage 50cloud or Sage Business Cloud Accounting.
You will learn how to enter and process simple financial transactions, record basic sales and purchase data, and produce straightforward reports. The course also helps you develop confidence in using accounting software accurately, giving you a solid introduction to real-world bookkeeping and financial record-keeping
SAGE Computerised Accounting
At Level 2 Computerised Accounting, learners build on the fundamental skills gained at Level 1 and begin to develop a deeper understanding of how financial information is recorded and managed within a business using Sage 50cloud or Sage Business Cloud Accounting. This level introduces more detailed accounting processes and strengthens your ability to work confidently with core financial data in a structured and accurate way.
You will learn how to process more complex transactions, including customer and supplier accounts, bank reconciliations, and adjustments to financial records. You will also gain experience in producing more detailed reports and using accounting software features more efficiently, helping you improve accuracy, organisation, and confidence in real-world bookkeeping tasks.
SAGE Computerised Accounting
At Level 3 Computerised Accounting, learners develop advanced skills in managing and maintaining financial records using Sage 50cloud or Sage Business Cloud Accounting, applying their knowledge to more complex and realistic business scenarios. This level focuses on refining your ability to work accurately and efficiently with a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring financial information is recorded, managed, and reported to a professional standard.
You will learn how to handle advanced accounting tasks such as year-end adjustments, financial reporting, control accounts, and more complex reconciliations. You will also gain confidence in producing detailed financial statements and analysing accounting data, developing the skills needed to manage end-to-end bookkeeping processes within a business environment.
Course Options
There are no formal entry requirements for this course; however, progression is structured and learners must complete the previous level before moving on to the next stage. This ensures that you build the necessary knowledge and confidence at each level before advancing. To support successful learning, a good understanding of English and Maths is recommended, ideally at GCSE Grade 4 level or equivalent.

Level 1 – Introduction to Computerised Accounting
At Level 1, learners gain a clear understanding of the basic principles of computerised accounting and how financial transactions are recorded using Sage software. You will learn how to set up basic accounts, enter simple transactions, and understand key accounting terminology. This level focuses on building confidence in using either Sage 50cloud or Sage Business Cloud Accounting to carry out straightforward bookkeeping tasks and produce basic financial information.
Level 2 – Developing Accounting Skills
At Level 2, learners build on their foundational knowledge and begin working with more detailed accounting processes. You will learn how to manage customer and supplier accounts, process bank reconciliations, and handle adjustments to financial records. This level develops your ability to use Sage software more efficiently while producing more detailed reports and improving accuracy in day-to-day accounting tasks.
Level 3 – Advanced Accounting Practice
At Level 3, learners develop advanced skills in computerised accounting and work with more complex financial processes using Sage 50cloud or Sage Business Cloud Accounting. You will learn how to complete year-end adjustments, produce financial statements, manage control accounts, and carry out advanced reconciliations. This level focuses on preparing you for real-world accounting responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, analysis, and professional financial reporting.
This is a fully online course, giving you the flexibility to study whenever it suits you. With 24/7 access to the Sage platform, you can log in at any time to complete your learning, revisit materials, and practise your skills at your own pace.

Before you are able to access your final exam, you will be issued with a unique exam code, which must be entered in order to begin the assessment. This ensures secure and authorised access to your exam and forms part of the official assessment process.

If you are unable to complete your studies within the 180-day access period, it may be possible to request an extension; however, this would be subject to an additional charge and must be agreed in advance.
